In EM Austen’s new book Smarter: 10 Lessons for a More Productive and Less-Stressed Life (Piatkus): a practical guide for those who want to live and work smarter, Austen writes about the importance of embracing the notion of ‘abundance’ in life. “Changing your perception to accept the idea that there is space for you… and that there are opportunities for you to succeed is a huge part of embracing possibility in your professional life… no one ever made it big with a scarcity mindset.” In the book, the author, CEO and founder of London-based Emerge PR company, offers tips for balancing ambition with well-being and self-worth.

This awareness of caring for the ‘driven self’ is also emblematic of the shift happening within the wellness industry. High achievers are seeking downtime as well as results-driven therapies rooted in longevity and science to fuel their quest for success.

Responding to this demand is the new opening, ZEM Wellness Clinic Altea—a pioneering medical clinic which opened last month in Spain. Designed to offer wellness experiences which embrace the latest in medicine, science and nutrition alongside holistic practices, ZEM Wellness Clinic Altea is based on Mediterranean longevity, giving guests the tools to live healthier, longer lives. The clinic is powered by advanced medical technology led by specialists from a wide variety of fields, including cardiology, dermaesthetics, nutrition, dentistry, regenerative medicine, pain management and more. Set over ten acres, it also encompasses 95 suites, a 4,000 sqm spa and culinary concepts rooted in the Mediterranean diet, with hyper-local produce sourced from its own organic farm.

In London, meanwhile, Dr Preema Vig, renowned aesthetic practitioner with a clinic based on Park Lane, offers the latest facial and body treatments for clients looking for the most advanced skincare. She was one of the early adopters of Profhilo®—a non-surgical treatment for patients who want to experience an improvement in their skin radiance, tone and texture without dramatically altering their appearance.

“Profhilo is gaining even more popularity, especially as patients are beginning to understand this category of regenerative medicine and that there are non-surgical treatments that can stimulate collagen and elastin as well as reduce inflammation—which we are all beginning to understand can age and compromise our cellular health,” Dr Vig says.

“Profhilo is the leading ‘beyond the skin’ hyaluronic acid injectable treatment, formulated with the patented NAHYCO® technology. Designed with cutting- edge science, it banishes the signs of ageing and is one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market. The formulation offers a prolonged stimulating effect on the dermal cells to counteract skin laxity, to improve and restore the firmness of the skin. This is what patients look for—natural looking results that are subtle and regenerative. Real not artificial.”

Biohacking recovery is one key element of this trend, offering innovative treatments and approaches to promote vitality and longevity. Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach in Honolulu exemplifies this movement, blending Hawaii’s rich cultural history with modern wellness techniques. “The resort’s wellness center, Fit Waikiki, has been reimagined to offer rooftop aerial yoga and a full-service spa” says Preferred Hotels & Resorts. “For those seeking cutting-edge therapies, the Drip Hawaii medical spa provides Waikiki’s first IV lounge. Other Preferred Hotels & Resorts properties also embracing longevity wellness, with services such as cryotherapy, oxygen therapy, and advanced skin treatments, include Lefay Resort & SPA in Italy and The Alpina Gstaad in Switzerland. Giving further insight is Accor’s new Wellness Trends report for 2025, which was curated by Emlyn Brown, the brand’s global SVP of Wellbeing, Strategy, Design, and Development. “Wellness in 2025 will go beyond fleeting trends, grounding itself in science and authenticity,” she says. “As consumers increasingly prioritise truth over hype, the future of health will be defined by a blend of technology, trust, and transparency. The path to genuine wellbeing is clear: informed choices, sustainable habits, and a holistic focus on the whole self.”

One of the leading trends that has been highlighted is what the brand is calling ‘brain fitness’—optimising cognitive performance for a longer, healthier life. “With life expectancy on the rise, brain health has become a top wellness priority. Consumers across all age groups, from 25 to 75, are actively seeking ways to enhance cognitive function and mental clarity. In response, the market is focusing on four key trends: brain supplements, nootropic-infused drinks, high-tech brain devices, and personalised brainwave programs designed to optimise cognitive performance. From Bio Trust’s Eternal Mind supplement and Japan’s Sun Neuro product to Rebalance Impulse Tech, Accor is introducing innovative solutions to support memory and brain function. Wellness offerings will increasingly integrate these brain-boosting technologies. As life extends, so does the quest for a sharper mind—wellness now means nurturing the brain as much as the body,” says Emlyn Brown.

It is an area that London-based Dr Sabine Donnai, a leading global authority on integrated health management and preventive medicine, is focusing on with a new brain health service that she is offering with Viavi. With the increasing incidence of cognitive related problems, Viavi, pioneers in healthy longevity, have launched a sophisticated brain health service, drawing on the latest technological breakthroughs, data and science alongside a holistic, integrated approach. Building on their expertise in the area, Viavi offer a full brain evaluation and personal health strategy service, priced at £12,000—billed as “a first of its kind and the most in-depth for brain and cognitive performance” as well as the revolutionary pTau blood test and advice service, available at £1,000. “Clients concerned about cognitive decline and how to keep cognition as healthy as possible for the long term, now have the most precisely targeted health strategy available today,” says Dr Sabine Donnai.

“Whether you are concerned with Alzheimer’s or Dementia, struggling with memory loss, suffering from brain fog, disturbed concentration, or simply wish to optimise performance, Viavi provide personalised data helping you to address the underlying causes and reduce future risk. Expect your brain to be scanned, measured and functionality observed, to ensure that all potential brain ‘harms’ are clearly seen,” she says. “Myself and my team of world leading clinicians can then determine how to optimise and future proof your brain health.”

Dr Sabine Donnai continues: “Our brain makes us who we are and yet it’s the least examined organ. Brain function goes beyond memory and concentration. It impacts how our hormones are regulating, clarity of thought, creativity, from sleep to emotional and mental health, from motor skills to vision and pain reception and of course the regulation of our automatic behaviours such as breathing, heart rate and temperature.”

Dr Donnai believes that brain performance is arguably the most important function in our system and is committed to keeping cognition at a desired level throughout the aging process, mitigating risks and potential cognitive problems. “Drawing on state-of-the-art tests, screening technologies and investigations, combining this with expert data interpretation, Viavi provide the clearest picture of your brain health,” she says, “The aim is to address your key priorities, optimise current cognitive performance as well as help maintain mental agility throughout life.”
