A host of homes recently put up for sale by industry billionaires include what Zillow says are some of the most desirable home amenities of the moment, including under-counter refrigerators, art-deco features and elaborate outdoor spaces with a pool, shower and kitchens of their own.
Key facts
- Zillow earlier this month put out a list of features that help homes sell faster”and for more money” including pizza ovens (homes with these sell for 1.9% more than those without), outdoor showers (2.6%), soapstone countertops (3%) and outdoor kitchens (1.7%).
- Houses with fenced yards and saltwater pools sell almost three days faster than those without, according to the home listing website, and those with dedicated spaces for indoor plants and curvy, art deco-like architecture can sell five and six days faster, respectively.

Surprising fact
Billionaire Daniel Snyder (who sold the Washington Commanders football team last summer) recently took his Washington D.C. home off the market and donated it to the American Cancer Society.
After a year of trying to sell – it was first listed at $49 million and then reduced to $34.9 million – Snyder pulled the listing.
The society told the Washington Post it plans to sell the property and use the proceeds “to advance our mission of improving the lives of cancer patients and their families.”
The 30,000-square-foot residence has six bedrooms, a library, gym, spa, office, wine cellar, theater and living room that overlooks the Potomac River. Snyder’s wife has been a longtime cancer awareness advocate since she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008.
