In a joint statement, Perry’s Friends co-stars said they were “utterly devastated” by the actor’s death.

“We were more than just castmates. We are a family,” the said.

“There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”

The stars shared the screen for 10 years, between 1994 and 2004.

A number of Perry’s former co-stars and industry peers have shared tributes to the late actor, after police found him unresponsive in his Los Angeles home on Sunday.

Maggie Wheeler, who played Janice, a girlfriend of Chandler Bing, the character Perry played on on Friends, said she felt blessed by “every creative moment” the two shared and said “the joy [Perry] brought to so many in [his] too short lifetime will live on.”

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, a former childhood classmate of Perry’s, said he’d “never forget the schoolyard games” the two used to play and the world would never forget “the joy [Perry] brought them.”
