As the likes of George Clooney and James Bond himself (Daniel Craig) watched on, Formula One drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, joined by Aston Martin executive chairman Lawrence Stroll, took the stage to present the new Vanquish – and not without a gentle jab at Ferrari.
“We are here in Venice because we want to beat the locals. There is this red team – I forgot their name,” Stroll joked. “Four years ago, I had a vision to create the world’s most desirable, ultra-luxury, high-performance brand. And to build a Formula One team. It has had its challenges, and we are still very young compared to our competitors.”
At its core, the 2025 Vanquish is Aston Martin’s latest V12 flagship, representing the most powerful car in the brand’s 111-year history.
It has a top speed of 345 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and boasts a 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged engine that produces 614kW (824 horsepower) and 1000Nm of torque. But for all its performance metrics, Aston Martin insists the Vanquish is not merely about speed. Luxury, after all, is where Aston Martin has always set itself apart.
The Vanquish draws on the brand’s deep heritage of blending craftsmanship with innovation. A panoramic glass roof stretches across the top, flooding the cabin with natural light, while high-grade leather and Alcantara upholstery add to the tactile luxury. The British manufacturer says every detail, is designed to create a sense of occasion every time you slide into the driver’s seat.
Inside, the Vanquish maintains a minimalist ethos. A 10-inch digital gauge cluster and central touchscreen deliver essential controls without overwhelming, reflecting a design philosophy Aston Martin calls “Modern Luxury” – an approach centred on simplicity, elegance, and a timeless aesthetic.
The Vanquish’s exterior follows suit, with a sleek silhouette that combines aerodynamics with aesthetic appeal. The longer wheelbase and use of carbon fibre elements enhance performance and give the car a dynamic stance that captures attention. The flush door handles, matrix LED headlights, and subtle carbon fibre accents are all touches that nod to Aston Martin’s rich history in motorsport.
With the 2025 model, the brand seems to have ignited a sense of nostalgia that appeals to both long-time motoring purists and the new generation of luxury car lovers.
