Hublot goes Bang at LVMH Watch Week

No dial? No hands? No problem. Hublot has once again set the bar high at LVMH Watch Week 2024 with its latest unveiling – a truly wild piece of engineering.

Kicking off 2024 in style, LVMH has debuted an impressive range of new timepieces from Zenith, Tag Heuer and Bulgari. But it was Hublot’s new MP-10 Tourbillon Weight Energy System Titanium, a marvel of engineering, that stole the show in Sydney this week.

So what makes it so unique? 592 components, 5 years of R&D, 2 linear weights, 1 inclined tourbillon, a circular power reserve, for a model to be produced in a limited edition of just 50 pieces.

And if it’s indications you’re after, this is where it gets really interesting. The MP-10 has no hands. In their place are four constantly rotating displays: the hours and minutes in the upper third of the dial, combined with an invisible magnifying glass.

“I think the big piece of this year is this manufactured piece, MP-10… I would say is the quintessence of what Hublot represents today, it is showing that Hublot is a very strong brand with a lot of watchmaking know-how technologically,” Hublot Chief Executive Ricardo Guadalupe said.

“For a piece to be part of our MP collection, it must not only reinvent existing complications; it must create something exclusive, invent, build and open up new avenues in watchmaking R&D. I gave our designers and watchmakers carte blanche, and this is the fruit of their labours. From now on, people will talk about the MP-10 Tourbillon Weight Energy System in Titanium in terms of ‘before’ and ‘after’”

The Swiss watchmaker also unveiled the Big Bang Unico Green SAXEM, a new timepiece that combines the brand’s innovative SAXEM material with that iconic Big Bang design. Featuring the UNICO 2 calibre movement and a robust 42 mm case, it is limited to just 100 pieces.
