A pink Givenchy dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in Blake Edwards’ 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany’s will be auctioned off by Julien’s Auctions in early September.
The flamingo pink embellished silk-organza dress worn by Hepburn in her iconic role as Holly Golightly is expected to fetch between US$200,000 (AU$305,000) and US$400,000 (AU$610,000).
The Legends: Hollywood & Royalty auction, a joint event between Julien’s Auctions and Turner Classic Movies, will take place between September 6th and 8th in Beverly Hills and online, with more than 1,400 iconic Hollywood cultural objects on offer.
The pink dress, which was designed by Hepburn’s friend and French courtier Hubert de Givenchy, features hand-sewn guipure fanned lace applique with faceted silver sequins and iridescent beads.
A straw wide-brimmed hat, also worn by Hepburn in her role as bookkeeper-turned-model Jo Stockton in Funny Face, is similarly up for auction, though with a price tag of between US$2,000 and US$4,000.
Other items of note to be sold at the auction include an original Mark XLII helmet from Iron Man III, worn by Robert Downey Jr. in his role as Tony Stark, which is estimated to fetch up to US$70,000.
There’s also a Walther P99 pistol prop from Tomorrow Never Dies, used by Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. That’s expected to fetch up to US$60,000.
